The CAO applications are coming up. A lucky few people have known what they want in life from the age of three, but the rest of us just have to wing it.
I heard an interesting viewpoint from a long-graduated practicing solicitor recently. She said there is no 'eureka moment'. There’s not going to be a time when you suddenly feel qualified, or “grown up”, and know exactly what you want to do. Most of us question what we’re doing and why we’re doing it all the time.

My granddad (not pictured above!) told me that you won’t know what you want to do until you’re thirty. Until then you should just keep busy and try and get all the experience you can. UCD is definitely a good place for that. So are lots of the other universities.
So when choosing your college course, try and pick something you’re interested in. Don’t consider what course sounds the most prestigious, or how many points it is. Study something you’re passionate about. Your grades will be all the better for it.
And don't forget that you can change your mind right up until the summer!
